South Bruce Peninsula Collaborates with Bruce County to Launch the Spruce the Bruce Program
South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario: The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is excited to partner with Bruce County to launch the Spruce the Bruce program on February 1, 2025. Spruce the Bruce provides grant funding to help strengthen communities and maintain and enhance downtown businesses. Eligible businesses and property owners are encouraged to learn more and apply at sprucethebruce.com.
South Bruce Peninsula Council has approved funding totaling $25,000 to support downtown revitalization efforts in Allenford, Hepworth, Sauble Beach, and Wiarton. This funding will assist local businesses with façade improvements, fascia and perpendicular signage, patio installations, and awning grants. Additionally, Council has allocated $10,000 to the Business Accessibility Adaptability Grant, promoting inclusivity and reducing barriers for businesses throughout South Bruce Peninsula. When partnered with Spruce the Bruce Funding, businesses will be eligible for up to 2/3rds of total project costs. These grants reaffirm the Town’s commitment to fostering economic growth and vibrant downtown areas.
“South Bruce Peninsula is committed to supporting local businesses,” says South Bruce Peninsula Mayor, Jay Kirkland. “With increased funding for a total of $25,000 for downtown revitalization and $10,000 for accessibility grants, we’re helping create vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming spaces in our communities.”
Bruce County supports a maximum of 50 per cent of eligible costs, excluding taxes, up to a set maximum per Spruce the Bruce grant. Properties that have received Spruce the Bruce funding in past years may be eligible for funding in 2025 for projects. Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible businesses and property owners.
