Sauble Beach
Sauble Beach was named one of the ‘Top 10 Beaches in the World’ by the Toronto Star.
Sauble Beach is the second longest freshwater beach in the world! With that much beach, there’s lots of room to bring the family and spread out! Swim, surf, kiteboard, SUP, jet ski, build castles, play volleyball or visit the famous Piping Plovers.
When you get hungry, there are many great eating places in walking distance and lots of shops to pop in along the way.
Whatever you do, be sure to finish your day with a calm walk along the beach at dusk with some of the best sunsets you’ll see anywhere!
Sauble Beach is a beautiful place to visit, relax and enjoy the sun, sand and surf.
Paid Parking is in effect from June 1 to Labour Day each year
When Paid Parking is not in effect, please be sure that you still follow all other parking provisions including: don’t park in prohibited areas, watch the clock – 2 hour parking is in effect, only park in accessible spaces if you have a valid accessibility parking permit and only park in motorcycle parking areas if you are driving a motorcycle.

Sauble Beach By-Law and Smoking/Vaping By-Law
The Sauble Beach By-Law regulates activities on the beach. The rules are:
No cooking or warming devices
No motorized vehicles (includes scooters, ebikes, atvs, cars, trucks, etc.)
No fires
No building of structures
No camping
No offering items for sale
No four sided tents and tents that you are unable to see through (sun canopies, three sided tents and open kitchen tents which you can see through are permitted)
No animals (dogs, horses, cats, etc.)
Service animals permitted (you must have the paperwork from an authorized health care provider identifying the animal as a service animal-please be prepared to show the paperwork to By-Law Officers)
No dogs between June 1 and Labour Day
No smoking or vaping
No alcohol
Put garbage in garbage cans
The Town does not have jurisdiction in water – these rules are not enforced in the water.
By-Law Enforcement Officers are on the Beach to enforce the by-laws.
Please approach an Officer with any questions you may have.

The sand beach south of Seventh Street N is owned by the Saugeen First Nations. The Town by-laws are not enforced on the portion of beach owned by Saugeen First Nations.
If you are planning a wedding on Sauble Beach please be aware that:
- All Sauble Beach rules apply
- Paid Parking rates apply
- There is no designated area and areas are not permitted to be held or blocked off for your ceremony
- You must seek permission from Saugeen First Nations for the use of their portion of Sauble Beach
- The Beach is a public place and the public may participate in/watch/interfere with your wedding ceremony
- Any items which you set up (ie. chairs, podium, arch) could be used by members of the public – it is a public beach
- You must not leave any items on the Beach overnight
- You should notify the Town if you plan to hold a wedding on the Beach
All areas in Sauble Beach can be considered paid parking areas unless they are otherwise signed. Please watch for signage indicating that the area where you are going to park requires you to pay. Every parking space will not be signed; signage will be spread out along streets where you are required to pay for parking.
There is a loading and unloading zone in the parking lot located at 104 Second Avenue N.
Please do not block parking spaces when using the loading and unloading zone.
There is no other loading and unloading zone which can be used.
This area is a short one block walk to the sand beach and right in the heart of downtown Sauble Beach for your convenience.
You are not permitted to park in the loading or unloading zone.
An oversized vehicle can be a bus, RV, vehicle with a trailer or any vehicle which would occupy more than one parking space.
Oversized vehicles are not permitted to park anywhere on Lakeshore Blvd N.
We encourage oversized vehicles to drop off passengers in the loading and unloading zone and then proceed to a parking space.
Locations for oversized vehicle parking include: the Sauble Community Centre parking lot (30 Community Centre Drive), the Poechman Parking Lot (corners of Poechman Lane, King Edward Ave and Sauble Falls Rd) or along Second and Third Avenue N (please be sure that you can park your vehicle off the travelled portion of the road).

A designated motorcycle parking area has been established between First Street North and Paisley Lane along Lakeshore Blvd N. Motorcycles must pay for parking–Paid Parking fees apply.
Please be sure to park within the designated and marked spaces.

Please make sure that you are using the Passport Parking Canada app (convenience fees will apply).
You will only be able to purchase daily and hourly passes during paid parking hours (8am-5pm) and you can only purchase a daily and hourly pass on the day you will be parking.
Parking Machines Located on Lakeshore Blvd N Only
The machines do not give change and take exact change only. The machines accept quarters, loonies, toonies, debit and credit cards. The machines DO NOT accept bills.
All you need to know is your license plate number and the parking zone (3030) which you will enter when you make your payment.
Paying for a season pass? They can only be purchased by contacting Town Hall (you don’t need to physically travel to Town Hall). Please contact the Clerk’s Department.
Paid parking machines are located at:
- Lakeshore Blvd N and Sauble Falls Rd
- Lakeshore Blvd N and Sixth St N
- Across from 151 Lakeshore Blvd N
- Lakeshore Blvd N and Essex St
- Lakeshore Blvd N and King Edward
If you pay using a machine, you won’t need to go back to your car and put a pass on your vehicle; remember your license plate number, pay at the machine and load your licence plate number into the machine. The machine will do the rest!
Paid Parking machines do not give change. You may pay using a debit card, a credit card or by using loonies, toonies and quarters. The machines DO NOT accept bills.
You CAN NOT purchase a season pass at the machines. Please contact the Clerk’s Department for more information.
Seasons passes for residents can be purchased for $50.00 per vehicle (no pro-rating).
They can only be purchased by contacting Town Hall (you don’t need to physically travel to Town Hall). Please contact the Clerk’s Department to arrange for payment and to supply the proof that will be required to determine your residency. The vehicle for a resident pass must belong to the resident. We will need to see your vehicle ownership.

Seasons passes for non-residents can be purchased for $200.00 per vehicle (no pro-rating).
They can only be purchased by contacting Town Hall (you don’t need to physically travel to Town Hall). Please contact the Clerk’s Department to arrange for payment. Town Hall hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. We are closed on holidays and weekends.
The purchase of a day pass may be applied to a non-resident season pass (must be for the same vehicle).
Hourly Rate $7 per hour
Daily Rate $30 per day
Note: Convenience fees will apply if paying through Passport Parking Canada website or app.
Season Pass Non-Resident $200 (per car-one car only per pass-no pro-rating)
Season Pass Resident $50 (per car-one car only per pass-no pro-rating)
You do not have to pay for parking within designated accessible parking spaces.
Paid Parking is in effect from June 1 to Labour Day, inclusive. The hours when you are required to pay to park are 8am-5pm.
You can pay a parking ticket or review or dispute a parking ticket. We encourage anyone wishing to dispute a parking ticket to first speak with the Clerk’s Department to see if there is resolution before having to attend a court proceeding.
