The Asset Management Plan provides information on the town’s infrastructure

The Corporate Strategic Plan provides the long-range guidance that enables the Town to advance priorities, strengthen municipal operations, identify key performance outcomes, and allocate the resources required to pursue implementation.

A Community Improvement Plan (CIP) helps municipalities map out priorities and direction for local improvements to communities.

In September 2023, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula contracted The Loomex Group to develop a community risk assessment (“CRA”). The CRA project had the following objectives:

  • Ensure South Bruce Peninsula complies with O. Reg. 378/18, which requires every municipality in Ontario to complete a CRA by July 1, 2024.
  • Identify and examine South Bruce Peninsula’s public safety risks from a fire services perspective.
  • Recommend strategies that South Bruce Peninsula and the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department (“the Department”) can use to mitigate the town’s public safety risks.

The Ministry of Energy has passed a regulation under the Green Energy Act, 2009, that requires Ontario’s public agencies to demonstrate the leadership role government plays in energy conservation. The regulation provides the Ontario government and public agencies with valuable information on how energy is used within each sector, allowing organizations to benchmark their facilities to similar facilities.

The Green Energy Act Regulation 397/11, requires public agencies to prepare and publish the following documents:

a) Annual reports on the energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the operation of specific Town facilities; and

b) A report outlining plans for the identification and implementation of energy conservation and demand management projects throughout Town facilities. The first report was released in July 2014 and will be updated every five years thereafter.

The following reports were created using data from the Envision business intelligence platform by Environics Analytics. Visitor insights were extracted using the MobileScapes tool, which analyzes mobile device activity within designated geofenced areas.

These reports provide valuable data to help businesses understand the demographics, behaviors, and travel patterns of visitors to Sauble Beach and Wiarton. By leveraging these insights, businesses can make informed decisions on marketing, customer engagement, and service offerings to better meet the needs of their target audience.
