Fireworks

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula regulates and licenses the sale and use of fireworks in the municipality. This is outlined in the Fireworks By-law.

Permission is required for anyone wishing to hold a fireworks display that does not fall on Victoria Day, Canada Day or Independence Day or the day immediately preceding Victoria Day, Canada Day or Independence Day or any special day established by Council.

Fireworks may only be set off between 7pm-11pm on the following days:

  • Victoria Day and the night before
  • Canada Day and the night before
  • Independence Day and the night before
  • (or any Special Day established by council or with a Permit)

  • You may only set off fireworks on the preset days.
  • You may only set off fireworks between 7PM-11PM
  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You may only set off fireworks on your own land or land authorized by the owner.
  • No setting off of fireworks in public areas (incl. sidewalks / highways / SBP owned or SBP managed beached / shopping plaza’s /etc.).
  • No person may have a fireworks display without a Permit from the Fire Chief and AHJ.
  • No person shall sell, retail, or set off firecrackers within the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
